The FRIENDS of the Davenport Public Library is developing plans for construction of the second branch library serving the growing population of Northeast Davenport. Like the Fairmount Street Branch, Northeast will provide popular materials on the latest topics and in the latest formats. Our Main Library will remain the “Main” library in the heart of the “Cultural and Entertainment District” downtown.
Each branch will have approximately 26,000 square feet on one level. Total construction costs are projected at $13,500,000.

The City of Davenport has committed $8.4 million and $4.8 million is being raised by the FRIENDS of the Library through a community capital campaign. The remaining construction funding, $300,000 will come from the library’s new operating levy.
We hope you share our excitement about the branches and that you will consider making a generous pledge to our capital campaign. Your support will touch the lives of thousands of residents for many decades to come.
